Whilst in Edmonton, a cross-country mountain biking trail must is the Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Area, home to 62 miles of track and easily accessible from the capital city.
The Canadian Rockies are a big drawer for anyone on two wheels and here you'll have your choice of spectacular parks and hundreds of miles of trails from Canmore to Banff, Lake Louise to Jasper. For road riders, the Bow Valley Parkway is not to be missed as it meanders through the mountains between Banff and Lake Louise or why not head to the Highwood Pass on Highway 40 in Kananaskis Country for outstanding views across the breathtaking landscapes.
